Hi! I'm Alandra, a top-achieving Grade 12 IB student and dedicated educator who has been passionately teaching students since 2024. In addition to my role as a Kumon Teacher specializing in Kindergarten to Grade 10, I have extensive leadership and teaching experience at the high school level as the Head of my school's Math Tutoring Club and the Founder of our Science Tutoring Club. Maintaining a 95%+ academic average and having won first place in a major English competition alongside top awards in Math and Science, I bring both strong academic excellence and a proven track record to my virtual classroom. Because I am a student myself, I totally get where your child is coming from; I always put myself in the student's shoes to teach with empathy, patience, and a deep understanding of how learners process information. To ensure your child's success, l use a highly effective 4-step teaching method: 1 begin by thoroughly explaining the new concept, followed by guided practice where we work through 10 to 20 questions together, then have your child complete 10 questions independently while I actively spot and correct any misconceptions, and finally, assign targeted practice with a thorough review at the start of our next class. Whether we are building foundational skills, reviewing homework, or mastering advanced concepts, I put my full effort into creating a positive, encouraging environment where your child can build lasting confidence and reach their full potential!
