Scope and contact

This Privacy Policy explains how Teach Champs collects, uses, shares, and protects information when people visit our website, create an account, use our tutoring marketplace, communicate through the platform, book lessons, join online class rooms, or interact with support.

Questions or privacy requests can be sent to team@teachchamps.com.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, phone number, country, account role, messages, support requests, and details submitted through forms or account settings.

For parent accounts, we may collect family and student profile details such as a student's name, grade, learning notes, subjects, booking preferences, lesson notes, reviews, and related parent-provided information.

For tutor accounts, we may collect profile details such as display name, photo or video uploads, city and country, subjects, grade levels, education, credentials, rate, availability, verification materials, payout readiness, and other information needed to review and operate a tutor profile.

We collect booking, payment, payout, chat, class attendance, recording, support, moderation, safety, and administrative records needed to run the marketplace and protect users.

Information collected automatically

When you use Teach Champs, we may collect device, browser, IP address, referral, page, interaction, log, cookie, session, diagnostic, and security information. We use this information to keep the service reliable, understand product usage, prevent abuse, and improve the website and platform.

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, analytics, security, and product operation. Some third-party services we use may also set or read cookies or similar identifiers.

Analytics and Microsoft Clarity

We use Umami and Microsoft Clarity to understand website and product usage, improve user experience, measure the performance of pages and signup flows, and identify issues. These tools may collect usage events, page visits, device and browser information, approximate location, interaction data, heatmaps, and session replay information.

We use Microsoft Clarity to see how people use our website and app. By using Teach Champs, you agree that Teach Champs and Microsoft can collect and use this data for analytics, product improvement, fraud and security purposes, and related site optimization. For more information about how Microsoft collects and uses data, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

When you are signed in, we may send limited account context to analytics tools, such as a user identifier, role, country, and account state, so we can understand product behavior across authenticated workflows without relying only on anonymous events.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, verify email addresses, support sign-in, publish tutor profiles, help families compare tutors, manage bookings, process payments and payouts, host class rooms, provide chat, deliver transactional emails, respond to support requests, and operate admin and safety workflows.

We use information to review tutor readiness, evaluate identity and credential evidence, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce platform expectations, resolve disputes, debug issues, improve features, and communicate important service updates.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand interest in subjects, grades, tutor availability, pricing, booking behavior, and platform features.

Accounts, authentication, and security

Teach Champs uses account and session information to authenticate users, keep users signed in, protect accounts, verify email addresses, support password and social sign-in flows, and detect suspicious activity.

We may collect and retain security logs, IP addresses, user agents, session metadata, account status, access decisions, support actions, and audit records to protect users, investigate abuse, and maintain platform integrity.

Tutor verification

Tutor accounts may be asked to complete identity verification and submit profile, education, credential, country, or other verification evidence. Teach Champs uses Didit for hosted identity verification workflows and may receive provider status, reference IDs, extracted verification data, confidence signals, legal name information, and other reviewable results.

Teach Champs may use verification information to review tutor eligibility, confirm profile claims, lock verified legal names where appropriate, handle resubmissions, investigate safety concerns, and support admin review. Provider approval does not by itself guarantee that a tutor is safe, suitable, qualified, or verified for every purpose.

Payments and payouts

Teach Champs uses Stripe to process parent payments, support checkout, maintain payment status, manage refunds or disputes, store limited payment method metadata such as brand, last four digits, and expiration, and support tutor payout workflows.

We do not store full card numbers. Stripe and other payment providers may collect and process payment information under their own terms and privacy policies. Teach Champs may retain payment, ledger, payout, refund, dispute, and reconciliation records as needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, support, legal, and platform integrity purposes.

Communications and chat

Teach Champs may collect and process messages between parents and tutors, support communications, transactional email events, notification-ready events, and related metadata such as sender, recipient, timestamp, delivery, and read or seen state.

We use Tawk.to to provide live chat to signed-in users. If you use the chat widget, Tawk.to may process your account name, email address, account identifier, role, conversation content, and related technical information needed to deliver and support the chat service.

We use AWS SES and related email infrastructure to send account, verification, booking, payment, support, and other transactional emails. We may review communications where needed for safety, support, dispute resolution, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.

Class rooms, recordings, and whiteboard

Teach Champs online class rooms may use Cloudflare RealtimeKit, Cloudflare Workers, Cloudflare R2 storage, and related infrastructure for live audio/video, chat, screen sharing, whiteboard, attendance, recording, recording export, and playback or download support.

Online tutoring sessions are recorded for safety, quality, dispute resolution, support, and platform security purposes. We may collect participant names, roles, join and leave times, duration, provider identifiers, room status, recording status, recording files, recording metadata, whiteboard/session metadata, and related technical information.

Access to class recordings and class-room records is limited to authorized product, safety, support, and administrative needs.

Children and families

Teach Champs is designed for K-12 tutoring arranged by parents or guardians. Parents and guardians are responsible for providing consent, supervising minors, deciding whether a tutor and lesson are appropriate, and ensuring that student information submitted to Teach Champs is accurate and appropriate to share.

We aim to collect only the student information reasonably needed to provide tutoring, booking, safety, support, payment, and platform services. Students should use Teach Champs only with parent or guardian involvement.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers who help us operate Teach Champs, including hosting, authentication, analytics, security, email, payment, payout, identity verification, video, storage, customer support, and professional service providers.

We may share information with parents, tutors, students, and other users as needed to operate the marketplace, such as tutor profile details shown to parents, booking details shared between booking participants, chat messages sent between users, and class room information needed for a lesson.

We may disclose information where required by law, to protect users and the platform, to investigate or prevent abuse, to enforce our terms, to respond to legal requests, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Account, booking, payment, payout, tutor profile, verification, chat, class recording, support, safety, audit, and administrative records may be retained while Teach Champs operates its services and for a reasonable period afterward.

We may still retain some data after a deletion request for safety and security purposes. We may also retain limited information where needed for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, payment or tax records, abuse prevention, audit logs, backup integrity, or platform security.

Your choices and deletion requests

You may contact us at team@teachchamps.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

Some information can be updated directly through account, family, tutor profile, availability, payment, or payout settings where those controls are available.

You can unsubscribe from non-essential marketing communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages or by contacting us. Transactional, safety, account, booking, payment, and legal notices may still be sent when needed to operate the service.

International processing

Teach Champs and its service providers may process information in the United States, Canada, and other countries where we or our providers operate. Privacy and data protection laws may differ from those in your location.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Teach Champs changes. When we make material changes, we will update the date on this page and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
